Harrods Knightsbridge, London
Problem
Harrods, the world's most famous department store were opening a trio of unique restaurants that needed developing concurrently, without effecting trade. Having already completed many prestigious projects over the last 17 years, Harrods turned to trusted partners, Hendry Electrical.
Solution
Tackling a large project in a fully trading shop requires both a holistic approach and eye for detail. We assigned two project managers and a quantity surveyor to oversee the 10 on site engineers. The ice cream parlour with its Americana art deco feel was the first to be completed using clever lighting and period furniture. With the ice cream parlour open for trading, attention turned to the opulent Pizzeria complete with two wood burning ovens. We created the authentic atmosphere of the pizzeria using 17 decorative corona pendants produced in Italy. The final restaurant was the teahouse, which despite design changes during fit out we delivered on time and on budget.
Result
Management of the job was key — every task was considered critical — big and small. Our ethos remains the same, treating all projects with absolute professionalism — from a three million pound restaurant to a three thousand pound retail kiosk. With all three restaurants complete, a very satisfied client has continued their successful relationship with Hendry Electrical
